Refreshing, sweet, and genuinely good for the people behind it. This lot comes from Kilenso Mokonisa, a 2,300-member cooperative in Ethiopia's Sidama region, part of the Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (OCFCU), one of the first producer groups to pilot the Fairtrade Climate Standard, helping 20,000 farmers build resilience against climate change. Both OCFCU and Kilenso Mokonisa return 70% of their profits directly to member farmers. Most farmers here grow on around two hectares, intercropping with "false banana" (enset), a space-efficient crop that holds moisture through the dry season and feeds families year-round. The cooperative also grows around 80,000 seedlings a year to replenish members' farms.

Most coffees are labelled as espresso or filter. We see things differently. Every coffee has its own personality, so we roast each one to bring out its unique flavour, sweetness and character, rather than making it fit a brewing method.
